Dear Hot Tub,
After this show I went home and immediately burned all of the clothes I was wearing and threw the cat in for good measure. Also, Kurt told a story about how alienating it is to have bedbugs and it made me realize that I am a jerk. About a month later I met guy with the bugs and upon learning that he had them, scooted as farm away from him as possible. Doing the exact opposite of what Kurt advised us to do during the show. And I just have to question Kurt’s advice giving skills.
You wonder if bedbugs are too terrifying to even joke about? I say yes, yes they are.

Oh, THAT’S who our special guest was last night. Check back tomorrow to see what else we got ourselves into! (Photo: Marianne Ways)
We are serious about our work. Also, I have a beard.
Dear Neighbors,
I was much more excited about Maru. I’ve seen Reggie Watts at the Littlefield before. Meh. But a cat sticking its head in a box, now that’s AMAZING!!

Dear Neighbors,
I gathered my courage and jumped on my bike and made my way to the Littlefield for a good soak in Hot Tub. It was excellent (mostly). And Kurt B shared some good news with us all, the TV show he has been working on, Bunk, was picked up for 10 episodes! Yay! We then watched an example of how the show worked, it is sort of a game show style that seems like it will frequently end in Kurt suffering from giggle fits. It was fun and it will be interesting to see how it works out.
Congratulations Kurt!

Dear Neighbors,
Hot Tub tomorrow night at the Littlefield. I wish there was a real hot tub there, because trekking to Gowanus sounds really cold. And also bikinis.

Dear Neighbors,
I saw Tim Minchin a few months ago at Hot Tub and he is a fantastic quirky British-Australian singer/songwriter. This song, Woody Allen Jesus, should help get you all in the holiday spirit.
Enjoy,

Dear Kurt Braunohler,
I think since moving to New York I have decided that you Kurt, are the most consistently funny comedians I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t matter what you are talking about (bed bugs, craig’s list missed connections, made up whale facts, giving advice to young girls, etc.) I am always highly amused. I recently heard your bit with Ms. Shaw on RadioLab (Fantastic!) and was highly amused and, as usual, also slightly creeped out.
Keep up the good work!
